I'm a Navy IA, Is it acceptable to wear my ACU while traveling?

I'm not sure what the policy is, but traveling from the theater to the states. My Army counterparts wear the same uniform while traveling, but I'm not quite sure since it's not my services uniform, and any Sailor or Marine would know not to be caught out in town in utilities of any kind. No one in my company can tell not, not even my first sergeant. Being deployed, I Don't have much in the way of civilian clothes, but I don't want to risk getting an summary reprimand from a Soldier on my improper ways.
